In 2007, after working for 10 years in the publishing industry as an art editor, I decided it was time for a change. I had studied photography at art college and completely fell in love with it - shooting with creative lighting, processing my own films (yes, these were the days before digital) - I can still remember the smell of developer fluid and the excitement of waiting for your image to appear, as if by magic! During my career designing for magazines, my love for photography grew still further and played an important part in my role, not only commissioning and briefing photographers for features, but often assisting and directing the shoots. My experience over these 10 years has influenced my style as a photographer and I naturally approach all my projects as if they were features, providing a range of images from close-ups to wide angle shots, but always telling the full story. Since taking the plunge all those years ago my business has grown from strength-to-strength. I now regularly produce high quality work for magazines, writing, photographing and designing features, and providing commercial photography and design services to the business sector. I still keep my hand in with design - I love it too much to give it up!
